GENERAL CRITERIA / REQUIREMENTS
In all the categories, the following shall be considered:
- All statements of outstanding achievements must have supporting documents.
- Moral Integrity
- Nominee is available to receive the award on June 13, 2008.
- Nominees should not be current UPAE board members.
TYPES OF AWARDS

Most Distinguished Alumnus/Alumna Award
- The nominee must have attained national and possibly international prestige, which has brought honor and prestige to the College of Engineering, the University and the country.
- He/She must be outstanding not only in his/her chosen engineering field/s but also in other areas of endeavor related to his/her profession.

Professional Degree Awards
- The award is given to outstanding alumni who have excelled in their respective fields of profession/career. The list of professional categories for which the award will be given is on the nomination form.
- The nominee must have attained national and even international recognition, in the particular field for which he/she has been nominated.
- The more recent achievements, particularly within the past decade, or a very outstanding recent achievement, will be given priority over achievements long past.

Achievement Awards
- This award is given to alumni who have made outstanding accomplishments in areas of endeavor related to any engineering field, thereby contributing to the development and improvement of the profession.
- Awards may vary each year according to the nominations received.

President's Award
- This award is given to the immediate past President of the UPAE for his leadership and contribution to the Association.

Posthumous Award
- The above awards may be given posthumous to a deserving alumus/alumna.The above awards may be given posthumous to a deserving alumus/alumna.
PROCEDURES
- The UPAE Board shall create a Committee on Awards comprising the Dean of the College, two or more past Presidents of the UPAE and one or two more members of the UPAE Board.
- The Dean of the College as the de facto Chairperson of the Committee shall send out Letters of Invitation for Nominations including a Nomination Form to COE Departments, Departmental Alumni Organizations, national government agencies, GOCCs and the top local companies.
- Invitation for Nominations shall also be posted on the UPAE website: http://www.upalumniengineers.org and the COE website, http://engg.upd.edu.ph to provide other alumni the opportunity to nominate deserving alumni.
- The Committee on Awards shall meet within two (2) weeks after the deadline for nominations to review all submitted nominations and to determine the completeness and authenticity of nominations and supporting documents.
- Complete and verified nominations shall undergo the Committee review after which a short list of nominees shall be prepared for dissemination to Departments and alumni organizations.
- The nominating alumni organization or COE Department will present their nominees to the Committee for final selection.
- The Committee shall meet no later than one month before the UPAE Alumni Homecoming to deliberate on the nominee’s qualifications and select the final list of awardees for the year.
- The Committee shall submit the final list of awardees to the UPAE Board, which shall then confirm and issue a formal announcement of the names of awardees.
