The Department of Computer Science continues its legacy by producing 51 new, competitive and promising graduates -- 21 or 41% of those finished their bachelor's degree with honors last April 22, 2006 at the most recent Engineering Rites.

Though this year's Eng'g Valedictorian did not come from the CS graduates, 31% of the 66 Eng'g honor graduates came from the CS department. CS Batch 2006 was lead by Linda Sarmiento II who eventually fell shortly at second spot behind the over-all college topnotcher from the IE department. The last college topper from CS was Leah Rutaquio last 2004.

Moreover, the Dominador Ilio Award was given to Geomar Lubaton, a BPI Science Awardee 2006. Three out of the five Oblation Scholars who graduated with honors were also from the CS department.

On the other hand, CS faculty members Ms. Florence Balagtas, Ms. Rebecca Ong and Mrs. Joyce E. Avestro-Viray marched last April 23, 2006 at the University Commencement Exercises as they completed their MSCS degrees.
