The University of the Philippines Java Research & Development Center (UP-JRDC) is a major contributor to the Information and Communications Technology infrastructure of the Philippines through its cutting-edge technologies.

We envision to be a world-class, global provider of technology, and recognized as the Java research and development leader providing top quality products and services.

UP-JRDC was established in December 2001 as part of Java Competency Center together with the Mirant Java Education Center in partnership with the Ayala Foundation, Inc., Mirant Philippines Foundation, Inc., Sun Microsystems Philippines, Inc., and University of the Philippines.

The Center is housed at the UP-Ayala Technology Business Incubator and the only R&D laboratory at the Technopark. We specialize in the areas of Technology Research, Software Development, Expert-level Training, Faculty Development, and Courseware Development.
