STUDENTS AND ORGANIZATIONS

UP ACES. The UP ACES of the CE Department was formed historically by the four aces: Altura (Claudio), Arroyo (Mon), Armeņa (Bernie), and Alberto (Reynaldo). Among the succeeding presidents who kept theorganization alive were Jess Reyes and very notably Ernie de Castro at whose residencea long EDSA (near the old Quezon City High) was the venue of the meetings and gimmicks.

When the famous Engineering Smoker was revived in 1964 through the auspices of the UPAE under "Esco" Escobar, the skit of the ACES titled "Cleopatra" was awarded the first prize with Gerry Bautista the "heroine" voted as best actor.

UP AGGREGATES. The UP Aggregates was organized as a student organization of CE students in 1985 with Pedro Moreno as its first president. During its sixteen year history, it has undertaken many projects, the most successful being the Salitagisan and the annual participation during the Engineering Week.
